LAST TRAIN TO NIBROC
The trilogy opens with this charming two character play set in the early 1940s. We follow May Gill and Raleigh Brummett from their first meeting on a train bound for Kentucky through their budding romance. “Nibroc soars. It beguiles. It buries sweet memories in a real gentleman's proffered hankie and restores faith in the values of character and integrity, in the promise of true love.”
- Alexandra Bonifield, Lakewood-Now.net
SEE ROCK CITY
The second play in the series picks up a year later. It's 1944. May and Raleigh's young married life begins under the watchful eyes of their mothers and in the shadow of World War II. This engaging comedy deepens our involvement with this American family. “A charming love story, wonderfully written and performed ... It takes you back to simpler times ... Light and funny” - Matt Gunther, THE COLUMN
GULF VIEW DRIVE
Welcome to Florida! Ten years have passed, and May and Raleigh are living a post-war dream of career success and home ownership. Multi-generational living and the social upheaval of the 1950s are the backdrop for this moving conclusion to the Nibroc saga. "Hutton has filled her plays with juicy novelistic detail, and Echo's staging ... brings it all to vivid life. All five performers distinguish themselves.
Sinclair unites charm, vulnerability and hidden strength ...
Justiss' May is ...someone we can love and identify with...
Platt...allows us to laugh at Mrs. Brummett's foibles...
Munger shades...Mrs. Gill with all sorts of warm and subtle colors ...
Treva is a real breakthrough for McCollum. She's so transformed you almost wouldn't recognize her. "
