A journey through the intricate paths along which we arrive at our identities, OFF THE MAP introduces eleven year-old Bo Groden, who yearns to be free of her quirky, back-to-the-land parents. She grew up in the wilds, "off the map" in northern New Mexico, where her father scavenged at the dump and her mother skinned bears. When the taxman arrived, Bo's life was changed forever. Bo, now an adult, takes us back 24 years - to the summer her father was depressed; the summer "the face of our lord Jesus Christ appeared in a tortilla at the Morning Glory Café"; her summer of great love and loss. A Southwest area premiere.
