Making a Scene - free playwriting workshop
No finished play required. No previous playwriting experience required. Just bring your curiosity—and maybe a story you’d like to make a scene about.
Sep 26, 2026, 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Ridgewood/Belcher Recreation Center, 6818 Fisher Rd, Dallas, TX 75214, USA
Got a story in your head? A character who won’t leave you alone? Or just the urge to write something dramatic?
Join Echo Theatre for Making a Scene, a free, hands-on playwriting workshop led by Hadley Shipley and Stephanie Oustalet. Whether you’re staring at a blank page or already have an idea underway, you’ll learn practical ways to turn your experiences, imagination, and half-formed notions into something made for the stage.
We’ll play with dramatic structure and character, then put those tools to work on your own writing. You’ll also have a chance to share work, hear what others are creating, and practice giving and receiving useful feedback in a supportive setting.
