Got a story in your head? A character who won’t leave you alone? Or just the urge to write something dramatic?

Join Echo Theatre for Making a Scene, a free, hands-on playwriting workshop led by Hadley Shipley and Stephanie Oustalet. Whether you’re staring at a blank page or already have an idea underway, you’ll learn practical ways to turn your experiences, imagination, and half-formed notions into something made for the stage.

We’ll play with dramatic structure, character, dialogue, conflict, setting, and theatrical storytelling, then put those tools to work on your own writing. You’ll also have a chance to share work, hear what others are creating, and practice giving and receiving useful feedback in a supportive setting.
