Jordan is a multidisciplinary Black feminist scholar-artist. They write intimate, character-driven dramedies that feature cross-historical encounters, feminism, big emotions, and messy relationships. Their plays and musicals include: SILHOUETTES (book & additional lyrics, 2025 Babelfest, Redhouse Arts Center; Finalist, 2025 New Works/New Voices); JEANNETTE (additional book; book by Lauren Gunderson, music and lyrics by Ari Afsar; Loyola Marymount University); I DON'T (10x10 Festival, Barrington Stage Company); WOMEN WITHOUT VIRTUE (Unmarked: Stories Told, Single Carrot Theatre Company); LIFT EVERY VOICE (Out of Hand Theatre Company); and SELF PORTRAIT WITH DIRTY HAIR (Womxn On Fire Festival, The Keegan Theatre). Ealey is a 2025 Playwriting Fellow with the Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts. As a dramaturg, they have worked with institutions such as Geva Theatre Center, WAM Theatre, PlayPenn, Round House Theatre, Latiné Musical Theatre Lab, Theatrical Outfit, and Hush Harbor Lab, among others. They are an Assistant Professor in the Department of Black Studies at the University of Rochester. Ealey is currently at work on a manuscript on Black women-created music theatre. Their scholarship has been published or forthcoming in Global Black Thought, Theatre History Studies, Studies in Musical Theatre, He/She/They Could Have Danced All Night, The Cambridge Companion to Rodgers and Hammerstein, and more. Their work has been supported by the African American Intellectual History Society, Harvard University, and New York Public Library. Ealey co-hosts and co-created Daughters of Lorraine, a Black feminist theatre podcast, which is supported by HowlRound Theatre Commons. Ealey earned a B.A. in Theatre and English from Wesleyan College and an M.A. and Ph.D in Theatre and Performance Studies from University of Maryland College Park.

Ari is a Bangladeshi-American singer, songwriter, and storyteller. Most known for originating Eliza in Hamilton Chicago, her Hamildrop feature "First Burn" has accumulated over 74 million streams. She starred in Netflix's original top 10 movie Wedding Season and led the company of Bhangra Nation (formerly known as Bhangin' It) in its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse. As Miss California 2010, a Miss America top 10 finalist, an American Idol top 36 finalist, and a soon-to-be graduate of the NYU Wagner MPA program, Afsar is an ever-evolving artist with the mission statement that art changes culture, and culture changes policy.

Johanna is thrilled to be apart of the cast and crew of "Silhouettes" as Naima. This is her debut at Echo Theatre with an incredible new musical. Her previous notable productions include Dionne in "Hair: the musical" at (Arts Mission Oak Cliff), Branwyn Weeks in "The Fall of Heaven" at (The Jubilee Theatre), "Xanadu", "Broadway Our Way" and "The Prom" (Uptown Players), "Stamped Banned Book Festival" (Bishop Arts Theatre), "Grace For President" (Dallas Children's Theatre), Hester in "This Time" (Undermain), Doris in "Miracle on 34th Street" (Firehouse Theatre), Lobby in "The Visit" and Sparkfest (Amphibian Stage), "Manic Monologues" and Priest in "Jesus Christ Superstar" (WaterTower Theatre), "Mind Over Murder" RadioVizion play at (Pegasus Theatre), Betsey in "Do No Harm" (Soul Rep), Ethel in "Memphis the Musical" and FIT Festival (Theatre Three), Johanna Nchekwube holds an BFA in acting from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She gives a huge thanks to all who brought this courageous piece of Art together along with thanking her family and friends.

Mira is excited to be in her first show with Echo Theater. She loves being part of new works and was last seen onstage playing Ariel in the workshop production of Omen (SheDFW). Favorite credits include A Christmas Carol (Denver Center), Tarzan (Lyric Stage), and Futurity (Aurora Fox). UNCO alum. Mira would like to thank her family, friends, and love for their support.

Sienna is a genderfluid performer native to the DFW area, and a graduate of the UNT College of Music. Recent musical theatre roles include Orin Scrivello, DDS (LITTLE SHOP), Herman/Rudy (CABARET), Lindsay (GODSPELL), and Tunny (AMERICAN IDIOT). In addition to their mainstream theatrical work, audiences may recognize Sienna from other local staged readings and new works, or from popular Dallas cabaret, Broadway On A Tuesday. Sienna is also an award-winning stage director, and the host and creator of the cult favorite podcast, Would You Still Love Me If I Was A Worm? (found on most podcast streamers). Analyse is a Music Education Major at East Texas A&M University. She has done shows with Dallas Young Artists (DYA), ETAMU Opera and Musical Theatre, Water Tower Theatre, and is excited to make her Echo Theatre debut! Analyse plans to teach high school choir and continue musical theatre when she graduates. Analyse would like to thank her mom for her constant love and support and Vonda K. Samantha is excited to be working at Echo Theatre on this wonderful new musical. She was most recently seen in BWYXNTX at WaterTower Theatre. Favorite roles include Paulette Bonafonté in Legally Blonde, Daniela in In the Heights, the Witch in Into the Woods, and Mazeppa in Gypsy (and yes, she bumped it with the trumpet). In addition to performing, Samantha has directed productions at Theatre Arlington, GPAC, Firehouse Theatre, and most recently Into the Woods Jr. at Newlook. By day, she teaches 6th grade, fueled by creativity, laughter, and a well-organized to-do list. Many thanks to Vonda, Kateri, and Elizabeth for this incredible opportunity and experience.

Nyla (she/they) is a trans comedian, improviser, and performer in Dallas. A transplant from Mississippi, Nyla graduated from the improv program at Dallas Comedy House in 2019 and never looked back. She's a long-running member of the improvised office sitcom troupe, "Coworkers," and a member of the all-Black comedy troupe, "FCC presents", performing a variety of comedy including stand-up, sketch, improv, original characters, and storytelling. She also performs in seasonal shows such as The Improvised Horror Movie and takes advantage of other performance opportunities whenever they can. Their favorite performances include the short film "Opening Up"(Nice Egg Entertainment), and sketch show "The Party's Just Getting Started" (Dallas Comedy House).

Kateri Cale is an actor, designer, producer, mentor, and playwright who serves as Managing & Artistic Director of Echo Theatre. After earning a BA in Theatre Arts from the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico, Kateri chose to begin her creative life in Dallas, Texas. Her first job at the Dallas Theater Center Box Office introduced her to the synergy of the intense artistic companies on stage in the early 1990’s. She soon began working with Undermain Theatre, premiering works by John O’Keefe, Mac Wellman, and Eric Ehn. A ten-year collaboration as a member of the Undermain Company under Katherine Owens and Raphael Parry provided real-world training for producing, commissioning, designing, writing, and performing in ambitious reimaginings of classics and cutting-edge new works. Kateri began her affiliation with Echo Theatre as an actor in 1998 during their first production, DREAM OF A COMMON LANGUAGE, which was performed in the Undermain Basement Space. While she performed and designed for multiple area theaters, a twenty-seven-year love affair was sparked with Echo Theatre, Dallas’s original Women’s Company. Kateri evolved from guest artist to Producing Partner to Co-Artistic Director and accepted the role of Managing & Artistic Director in April 2019. Just in time for the world-wide pandemic, she developed alternate programming; online live play workshops and readings, Echo Offstage, a long-anticipated podcast, and, in a first for the company, Ms. Cale hired a production crew and design team and directed a play on film, THE OTHER FELIX, which was screened at a socially distanced gala premiere. It reopened the newly renovated City of Dallas Bath House Cultural Center and helped patrons and artists return to the theater. Under Kateri’s leadership, Echo has continued to evolve and expand their mission, to champion the diverse voices of Women+. Through the Big Shout Out international new play festival, co-productions with sister theaters, commissioned works, and world premieres, Kateri mentors and partners with a supporting team of Echo Creatives who bring knowledge, energy, and joy to their productions.

Lauren (she/her) is an actor and musician in the DFW metroplex, and is excited to be working as the music assistant for Silhouettes. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre at UT Arlington, and was last seen there as Woman 3 in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, and at NTPA Collegiate Pursuits playing violin for Hadestown and Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. She has a passion for new work and is thrilled to be able to help facilitate its production.

Liz is a Dallas-based actress, producer, arts advocate, and nonprofit resource strategist. She has consulted for the Oscar®-qualifying Tasveer Film Festival, and has performed in commercials, films, and onstage with Dallas theaters including Echo Theatre, Kitchen Dog Theater, Second Thought Theatre, and Undermain. Liz serves on the boards of Echo Theatre and Junior Players and is a 2025 recipient of the Center for Cultural Power’s Regions Rising Award for artists working at the intersection of art and narrative change. Recent producing credits include HOWLER (2025), and the upcoming feature DREADNOUGHT (2026), both written and directed by Texas filmmaker Richard Bailey. Liz holds a Master’s degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Creative Writing from SMU and a BA in Theatre Studies from the College of Santa Fe. Liz is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and is represented by Linda McAlister Talent.
