Bath House Cultural Center, 521 E Lawther Dr, Dallas, TX 75218, USA
Echo Theatre's Reflections by the Lake is an evening to gather and discuss the state of theater in North Texas with focus on a specific topic of importance to our company. This inaugural year we celebrate theater artists who are gender diverse or who identify as women. The theme: A Synergy of Women +
AN INVITATION TO ALL WOMEN+ & ALLIES
The Echo Theatre Creatives invite all attendees — including people born female, people who identify as women, and people who are gender nonconforming – along with male allies - to join us for Reflections by the Lake. This unique evening is designed to foster meaningful connections and highlight the dynamic impact of collaboration among women+ in the arts. By bringing together diverse experiences, perspectives, and talents, Reflections by the Lake embodies the spirit of synergy: the combined action of passionate participants creating something greater than one might achieve alone.
This free community gathering is open to the public, with reservations strongly encouraged.
Reflections by the Lake celebrates the power, presence, and future of women+ theater makers in Dallas–Fort Worth through an evening of performance, conversation, and connection.
The event will feature:
• An opening performance by burlesque dancer Nina Bytes to set a bold, celebratory tone.
• A short, high-impact Panel Conversation featuring established and emerging women+ leaders in DFW theater.
• An Interactive Reception where Echo Producers and guests connect one-on-one about what stories feel urgent, which playwrights are missing from local stages, and how theater can be more relevant in their daily lives.
Guests may engage with Prompt Stations around the venue to share thoughts on the issues they want theatre to tackle and recommend plays or artists they hope to see produced. Those who choose to share their email addresses will receive a post-event Reflections Recap, including key themes voiced by the community, and a preview of Echo’s upcoming programming.
Reflections by the Lake will also introduce Echo Theatre’s new Play Submission Pathway, inviting:
• playwrights to submit new work,
• directors and producers to propose collaborations, and
• audience members to recommend plays and artists for future Echo seasons.
Submission information and guidelines will be available at EchoTheatre.org following the event.

ABOUT ECHO THEATRE
Echo Theatre is the Southwest’s premier theatrical organization dedicated to championing the diverse voices of women+. Since 1998, Echo has pursued gender parity in the theatrical canon by producing, promoting, and preserving work by women+ playwrights and theater makers.
Echo’s mission is rooted in four core values:
Conviviality – Creating welcoming spaces where artists, supporters, and audiences can learn, grow, and evolve together.
Inclusivity – Welcoming the expansive community of people who identify as women+ into our leadership, stages, production teams, and audiences.
Fidelity – Remaining resolute in our commitment to uplifting women+ voices through thoughtful, high-quality artistic work.
Intersectionality – Working through an intersectional lens, recognizing that systems of discrimination are interdependent, and that championing women+ means holistically supporting all who are marginalized.
About women+: Echo Theatre uses the term “women+” to embrace an expansive and diverse community, including people born female, people who identify as women, and gender diverse individuals.
