Live Theater at Last!
Echo collaborates with Over the Bridge Arts, producer of FIRST DRAFT, an evening of creative works-in-progress.
FIRST DRAFT opens with artists from Echo Theatre, including Kateri Cale, Chad Cline, and Leslie Patrick, reading opening scenes from selected entries to the Big Shout Out 3 International New Play Contest for Women+ Playwrights. Hot off the printer, these First Draft appetizers will leave audiences hungry for the main course as you Vote on your favorite opening scenes!
The second half of the evening features an original satirical musical “The Pollinators,” under the helm of writer/spoken word artist CJ Critt with Dallas director Jake Nice and a pop and rock score from area jazz artist Rebecca Cordes, podcast wizard Morgan Clarke, composer John Prestiani, and tunesmith Barry Young. The script is both hilarious and tender as love triumphs and the bees prevail.
